Ruth Simsa of Vienna University of Economics and Business is speaking at the Euclid leadership network seminar “Strategic leadership in turbulent times”  in Barcelona, 12-23 May 2015.

In reference to economic, social and political turbulence in the wake of the financial and economic crisis in Europe and the fracturing of traditional left-wing parties by political protest movements, seminar organisers conclude that “these are turbulent times for Europe” that need strategic leadership more than ever to empower civil society to drive positive change. The seminar explores three issues posing a challenge to the way civil society organisations (CSOs) work, grow and create impact:

  1. multi-level governance
  2. civic engagement
  3. strategic funding mix and demographic diversity

In a workshop on strategic funding mix Ruth will present first findings of TSI’s research into third sector barriers, based on case studies.
