IGO is a pressure group of currently 43 NGOs in Austria. Members are the national branches of large international organizations like Amnesty International, MSF or WWF, but also smaller ones of only national or local importance. IGO takes up their common needs and interests and develops strategies to improve the framework conditions for their work. Important achievements are:

  • the introduction of a quality seal for donations in Austria;
  • a significant reduction of banking fees for a large number of NPOs;
  • the implementation of a Civil Society Index – Rapid Appraisal in collaboration with CIVICUS and the Competence Center for Nonprofit Organizations at the Vienna University of Economics.

IGO’s Director Franz Neunteufl will participate in TSI’s discussion of third sector barriers with European stakeholders in Rome in April 2016.
