Stadtsportbund Münster (SSB)
Stadtsportbund Münster (SSB) is the umbrella organisation of 200 sports associations in Münster, representing 90.000 members. Founded in 1919 it represents the interests of sports associations at municipal level. SSB provides training to it’s non-profit members, educating volunteers on legal issues, fundraising or recruiting new members. It also organises large sporting events in Münster to draw public attention to the important role of sports and annual events like “sports for the elderly”, “week of sports and health” or a sports ball night. SSB Münster cooperates with the federal sports association of North-Rhine-Westphalia.
Board and most staff of SSB Münster are volunteers.
